Biography
1962 saw Domenico Modugno once again winning the San Remo Festival, this time with Addio, Addio. Consequently Domenico flew to Luxembourg to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. However quarrels started and Claudio Villa was flown in on the day of the contest to sing the song in the actual contest. A famous singer in Italy and the neighbouring countries the song Addio, Addio still achieved a disappointing 9th position, maybe due to the pressure put on him. Addio, Addio didn't become a European hit either. But Claudio Villa bounced back in the course of 1962, when he covered Silvio Francesco and Caterina Valente's Quando, Quando, Quando and had a European hit with it. Claudio Villa returned to the Eurovision stage in 1967 with Non Andare Piu Lontano.
Domenico would take his revenge in 1966, when he entered into the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time in his career.
