Biography
Following his relative success in 1964's Eurovision Song Contest Udo Jürgens (born Udo Jürgen Bockelmann 30/09/34 in Kärnten) had a minor hit in Germany with Schreib Mir Keinen Brief. Despite the lack of success of Udo Jürgens in the German speaking countries Austria decided to give him a second try and entered his Sag Ihr, Ich Lass' Sie Grüßen. The song bettered Udo's 1964 placing by one place and ended at 4. The song was followed in the German charts by 17 Jahr, Blondes Haar. The song was such a hit that Austria made a difficult, yet wise decision: to enter Udo once again. 1966 also saw Udo starring in the film to the song 17 Jahr, Blondes Haar, one of several roles to follow.
Frank Bohlen is the father of Dieter Bohlen who participated as composer for both Germany and Austria in 1989 and for Austria in 1992.
