Biography
Milk & Honey consisted of Shmuel Bilu, Reuven Gvritz, Yehuda Tamir and Gali Atari. Gali Atari already tried to enter into the Eurovision Song Contest the year before with the song Nasich Hachalomot (Valentino). That year she had to let Izhar Cohen & The Alphabeta go. This year she joined the group Milk & Honey on Hallelujah. Gali stayed with the group for another Europe-wide hit Goodbye New York, before she left. There were a lot of other female singers that fronted Milk & Honey, of which the best known probably is Yardena Arazi. She participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for Israel in 1976 as part of Chocolate, Menta, Mastik (Emor Shalom) and in 1988 solo with Ben Adam. She was also one of this year's presenters. Milk & Honey tried to re-enter into the Eurovision Song Contest twice. In 1981, fronted by Lea Loopatin (also ex-member of Chocolate, Menta, Mastik), with Serenada and once again in 1989 with Ani Ma'Amin. This Milk & Honey should not be confused with a Dutch group called Milk & Honey that had a hit in 1975 with Dance.
