Biography
Dora Maria Reis Dias de Jesus began her career after winning a radio talent competition. This is her second appearance at the Eurovision contest after winning the national competition in 1986 with her song "Não sejas mau para mim". She has recorded two singles and her first LP is due for release shortly.
A child prodigy, José Calvário began piano studies at 5, giving his first performance at 6 and finishing his music studies by the age of 16. At 21, his 1972 Eurovision entry A Festa Da Vida received Portugal's highest placing ever in the history of the contest so far. A regular participant at the Eurovision Song Contest, composer José Calvário returns to the podium to conduct the Portuguese entry for this year's competition.
Lyricist, José Niza, is a man of many interests: psychiatry, poetry, music, law, and composing. This is his fourth Eurovision entry. He is currently putting the finishing touches to a "Rock-Opera", for which he has already been accredited with a national award. [Notes from the Official 1988 Programme by RTÉ]
