Biography
Tony Wegas (born Anton Sarközi) is from a Romany gypsy family of Hungarian origin. He is multi-talented and apart from singing, Tony acts, entertains and is guitarist in the band 'Tony Wegas, Feuerwerk'. This year sees Tony Wegas entering the contest for Austria for the very first time.
German composer/producer Dieter Bohlen started his career writing over a thousand songs for a Hamburg music publisher. After receiving his first golden disc he decided to become his own producer. The triumph of his "Modern Talking" project in the international charts began with "You're My Heart, You're My Soul". He then continued as a composer and producer by working with such artists as C. C. Catch, his own formation Blue System, as well as for television and movie soundtracks. In early 1989, Dieter Bohlen was appointed to write the Austrian entry for that year's Eurovision contest. That very same year another of his and Joachim Horn-Bernges' songs, Nino De Angelo's "Flieger", won the German final, making it the second time ever a composer had two songs in one Eurovision Song Contest for two different countries after Ralph Siegel in 1980 who was responsible for both the German and the Luxembourg entry.
After studying guitar and singing at the Cologne Academy of Music, Joachim Horn-Bernges (born Hans-Joachim Horn-Bernges) tried his hand at composing and writing texts. His first successes were as co-author of Howard Carpendale's "Nachts wenn alles schläft" and as author of Drafi Deutscher's "Tief unter meiner Haut" and Nino De Angelo's hit "Jenseits von Eden". This year sees him teaming up once again with Dieter Bohlen to compose a song for the Austrian final.
Dieter Bohlen would be a judge in the German version of Pop Idol. In the first edition, this song was sung and record by the ten finalists under the title We have a dream and went on to be the most sold single in Germany in 2003.
