Biography
Following their appearance at the 1987 contest with Laß Die Sonne In Dein Herz Wind enjoyed a long string of hits including Jeder Hat Ein Recht Auf Liebe, Geh' Nicht Vorbei and Pina Colada. Over those years there were more personnel changes in the group. At the time of this year's contest the group consisted of Oliver Haan, Sami Kalifa, Stefan Maro, Albert Oberloher, Petra Scheeser and Tina Vierstade. Shortly after the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest the singer of the 1987 line-up, Andy Lebbing returned and he stayed with the group for a new series of hits including Samba De Janeiro. He was also the singer of the group, when they returned to the German pre-selection in 1998 as Diana & Wind with Laß Die Herzen Sich Berühren.
The songs which came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in this year's German National Final were all released on record a week before the Eurovision Songcontest, thereby contravening the then applied Contest rules. The matter was settled and the result allowed to stand.
Ralph Siegel comes from a long line of composers and singers, and began composing at the age of 14. He has studied in Paris, Nashville and New York where he spent several years.
Bernd Meinunger took a masters degree in economics before dedicating his time to writing lyrics.
