Biography
Edyta Górniak was born in 1972 in Opole. As a teenager in the amateur musical movement she came to the attention of the producer of the musical Metro in which she subsequently starred in a thousand performances, including Broadway. She now has a contract with the Buffo Theatre in Warsaw where she has played many leading roles, besides being in great demand as a guest at numerous international song festivals.
Stanislas Syrewicz was born to a Polish family in the USSR. Once back in Poland, he studied at the Warsaw Academy of Music and then the Warsaw Academy of Theatre, subsequently directing a number of productions including his own musical Martial Law. As a member of Solidaridad he composed a number of songs, remaining in exile in Paris during the years of marshal law. He works mainly in film and television, collaborating with such major figures as Ken Russell and John Frankenheimer, and this year won the American ACE award for the best movie score with Stalin. He divides his time between Paris and London.
Jacek Cygan has several times been named Best Song Writer of the Year and has several golden discs to his credit. He devotes a lot of time to writing music for children which has been presented in poular television series. He is anxious that the colloquial language of song should be enriched by his work.
