Biography

Tó Cruz was born in Lisbon in 1967. He entered the Portuguese music scene in 1985 with a rap song which was a top hit for several weeks. After spending two years in Algarve performing his own songs with a band he returned to Lisbon in 1989 to concentrate on cover versions. The recording sessions, shows abroad and TV programmes slowed down when he became a father in 1993.

António Vitorino de Almeida was born in 1940 in Lisbon. He graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Some years later he took up the Cultural Attaché post at the Portuguese embassy in Austria. Considered an excellent pianist, he also is the author of many piano and orchestra compositions. He wrote and directed a television series on classical music which he also presented.

Rosa Lobato de Faria was born in Lisbon and this is the third time she has written the lyrics for the Portuguese entry, the 1992 and 1994 entries being the other compositions of Rosa that made it to the Eurovision stage in Malmö and Dublin respectively. She has been presented with several awards such as first prize at the 1989 Leira Festival. Rosa has also published two volumes of poetry. [Notes from the Official 1995 Programme by RTÉ]
