Biography

Love City Groove, singing their debut single, are made up of Stephen Rudden (aka Beanz), Jay Williams, Paul Hardy and Yinka Charles (aka Reason), who all come from London.

Beanz, 28, was the creator of Love City Groove. His previous successes include the dance project Plutonic. He lists his main interests as music, music and more music.

Jay Williams, at 21 the youngest member of the band, has already established himself as a successful DJ in and around London. His most recent project was rapping with RPM for the Mo Wax label. He is a fanatical basketball fan and player.

Paul Hardy, 26, co-fronts Love City Groove with Reason. He has previously sung for Sade and Tom Jones and at the time of the contest was about to work as a backing singer for Dina Carroll.

Reason, 24, has travelled the world with E-Zee Posse. In October 1994 she was narrowly beaten into second place in the UK Rap Competition where she was the only female rapper to be placed.

Tatsiana Mais at the age of 15 scored her first major chart and club success with her track Africa. Since then she has completed her studies at the prestigious Brit School while moonlighting as the rapper-babe for St. Etienne and Babbie. [Notes from the Official 1995 Programme by RTÉ]
