Biography
The popular singer, composer and lyricist George Nußbaumer grew up in picturesque Vorarlberg, speaks the local dialect, and still lives there with his girlfriend and 11-year old daughter. The 33-year old musician, who is blind, began playing the piano when he was 10. He loves soul, blues and gospel music, and this, coupled with his talent for improvisation, has made him a popular live performer, who has played with the likes of Champion Jack Dupree, Vince Weber, Luther Allison and Axel Zwingenberger. No wonder they say he has "the blackest voice in Austria". His contribution to this year's EuroSong "Weil's Dr Guat Got" has a gospel rhythm.
Mischa Krausz, in his early forties, currently works at the Wiener Neustädter Conservatory. He studied cello at the famed Vienna Conservatory, which he later substituted with the electric bass guitar. He is one of the most sought-after string artists in Austria's jazz and pop scene. Mischa also participated in the 1995 contest. [Notes from the Official 1996 Programme by NRK]
