More information
Biography
Guildo Horn is famous, or notorious, for his wild stage act, his colourful costumes and strange hair-style. His appearance in Germany's Eurovision Song Contest pre-selection show doubled the previous year’s audience. Half a million telephone voters chose Guildo to represent them in Birmingham. Since then Guildo has become something of a cult star with his band, Die Orthopädischen Strümpfe. His recent tour attracted more than a million people.
Stefan Raab started composing, arranging and producing numerous pieces for the cinema and television while he was still a student. He also wrote advertising jingles and brought out his first CD of instrumental music. Today, Stefan runs his own music studio in Köln where he produces numbers for himself and other artists. He produced his first Top Ten hit in 1995 with a light-hearted homage to Germany's then football trainer, Berti Vogt. Recently Stefan was commissioned by Walt Disney to produce a contemporary version of The Bare Necessities from The Jungle. Stefan composed this year's German entry under the pseudonym Alf Igel, obviously a parody on the other German Eurovision composer Ralph Siegel. [Notes from the Official 1998 Programme by the BBC]
