Biography
Einar Ágúst Víđisson was born in 1973. He is a singer, percussionist and guitarist with one of Iceland's most popular rock/pop bands called Skímó. Music has been his consuming passion since he was a child. He leads a regular pop music show Monday to Friday on radio Mono87,7 which is one of the most popular radio shows among young people. His band recently received an award as Best Dance Band at a gala held by one of Iceland's radio stations, and he and his fellow band members are famous for their wild and exciting stage performances. The band has had many top 10 hits in Iceland in the past three years. Einar graduated from high school, specialising in social science, but has not yet decided whether to undertake further studies. One of his major interests is religion. He is a member of the Bahá'i movement. Einar has never sung with Telma before, but has high hopes of their collaboration. By participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, he hopes that he will establish himself even better as a musician and singer. He regards this as an excellent opportunity to reach a bigger audience.
Telma Ágústdóttir was born in Reykjavík in 1977. She grew up in Gardabaer, and now lives in Hafnarfjördur with her family. Telma caught the music "bacteria" at an early age from her father, who is a nationally-known musician in Iceland. From the age of fifteen she has been singing with various bands, among them Spur, the band with which she made her name known to the public. Although Telma has years of stage experience, her first TV appearance was when she sang with Einar Ágúst in the preliminary national song contest for ESC. Before they were asked to sing together, Telma and Einar had never met.
Örlygur Smari (commonly known as Oggi) is 28. He was born in Reykjavík, but moved to Stockholm at an early age, and lived there for six years. As a matter of interest, this is Oggi's first visit to Sweden for 18 years. Oggi has been involved in music since he was very young, although he has no formal musical training. He started to annoy his parents by strumming on a guitar when he was very young, and has never stopped since. He has sung and played in many bands, participated in the staging of a musical and composed music for the theatre, among other things. Oggi´s song was not written specifically for the contest, and he almost missed the preliminary contest in Iceland, only just making the deadline.
Sigurdur Örn Jónsson was born in 1970. He lived in Gothenburg 1977-81, and this is where he first experienced the Eurovision Song Contest. Although, he has never participated as actively as now. He studied classical piano in younger years, and since then has been self-taught as a musician. He plays the piano and the guitar. He has been writing and performing music for the past 15 years, for the theatre and for bands such as Siggi & Teddi, Tennessee Trans and a blues band, SRV. As of yet, hardly any of his work has been recorded, but this is soon to change. He got to know Oggi at the Reykjavík High School about ten years ago, and they have worked together from time to time ever since.
