Eight acts competed in this national final. The top four have qualified to a "superfinal", where they faced a regional televoting across Norway as well as regional expert juries, and it was decided that Alexander Rybak got the ticket to Moscow. The show was hosted by Per Sundnes and Maria Haukaas Storeng at the Spektrum in Oslo.

The the third and fourth placed songs in the three semi finals had been joined by another two wildcards: KeSera, who got the most televotes and SMS votes despite finishing outside the top four and Foxy, who were the favourites of the readers of vg.no. There were two rounds of voting. In the first round, the eight songs competed in pairs and the four favourites made it to the second round, were the eventual two qualifers were chosen. Espen Hana could win against Surferosa while Publiners won the ticket ahead of Jane Helen. The show was hosted by Per Sundnes and Maria Haukaas Storeng in Ålesund.
