Koen
That what u said about two semis has nothing to do with capacity and hosting!!!!

Nevermind..... Serbia host ESC this year and we prove that we have capacity .... so We are going to win againg and host it next year too!!!

I would prefer if there was a rule that a country first needs to prove they'll be able to host next years event if they win. I think there won't be a need to host two semi's if that rule was introduced.

Anyway its not my or our problem its the problem of EBU and the winning country's public television.so lets give that to them!

Go Sirusho Go Kalomoira!

DK, you are so wrong my friend. In the rulebook from EBU, it says that countries participating, should be able to organise it. That's fe the reason that Monaco pulled out for so many years. So if you think that on top of the EBU financial participation, that certain countries like the big 4, will also start paying extra because certain countries do not have the means to host the festival, you are so wrong.

Russia and Ukraine have big chances to win, but my favourite to win this year is Armenia, so...Go Sirusho!

Yes i suggested that!!!!! You have some problem with that???? I am sorry but if u think that ESC should be held only in countries that have capacity to host it even if some other country wins contest you have a huge problem in your head!!!!!!

@DK:
Do you actually suggest that the EBU (wich is a union of broadcasters, not states) should give financially support for the construction of venues, where the ESC might be held just once...I don't think the BBC for example wants to pay for that!

D K, it wasnt about ur post! I agree that EBU helps the countries which have problems with hosting, there's nothing about that!

Thanks for the support :) Wish good luck to you too! ;)

London is alongside Paris my top dream-hosts of the event! But it's unfortunately not likely that one of them will host the event next year, even though I got them both in my top-10!

However, I hope for Malmö 2009. The Smallest host-city since Millstreet93 (Malmö hosted in 1992).

Kyiv 2009 or Malmo 2009 would be my favourite! But Yerevan 2009 would be great also.

London 2009 would be really great, but it won't happen!! lol :D

As far as i know EBU cares all these kind of problems. so no need to worry.but im sure even without the help of EBU it can be great too ;)

Tue 29 Apr 2008 17:51:34

Armenia is one of my favs... If Sirusho wins i am going to be happy and if Yerevan has problems with capacity of venues then other states that are in EBU should help it build new Arena or reconstruct some other which is best for hosting!!!! THAT SHOULD BE RULE!!!!!!

GO ARMENIA!!!

Here's a good link with pictures and info on Hamalir. It's the company that bought the building several years ago and has been reconstructing it ever since. They should be done by September of this year.
