Emly Starr back in the limelight
Love is elastic - the title of the compilation (and the opening track) - has 18 tracks including Samson, her 1981 Eurovision entry, in its two versions, Flemish and English. Emly's musical career began in 1978, with No no sheriff and ended with Jump in the dark, in 1986. Still, the lady - now aged 51 - has done a lot of other things meanwhile.
A short biography can be found on her personal website here as well as a lot of details on the Eurovision experience. Along with the CD, eurofans will enjoy a bonus-DVD : 9 clips and a 10-minutes Eurovision special, with parts of Belgian preselection and reports in Dublin, where the entrant only reached number 13.

I believe "Samson" was the big favorite that year, but as always Belgium did not receive what it deserved....
Its such a shame that the Belgian entries are so under-rated. They sent great songs in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007, yet they still got bad results

I am not a big fan of 'Samson' but she's a lovely lady, certainly. In the photo she reminds me of Kylie Minogue, don't you think she looks similar?
I really want this! She had great success in Japan too. Her biggest song there was Santiago Lover, a reall disco classic. She even had clubhits in the US! A great and memorable performance. The new song Love Is Elastic samples Patrick Hernandez is awesome, and sounds even a bit like Alcazar!
