Relaxing during Belgrade Cruise!
Switzerland: Paulo - Italy has to look for Eurovision
Paolo Meneguzzi will be representing Switzerland a the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Era Stupendo, which will be performed entirely in Italian. Paolo is a well known artist in Italy as he has performed at the San Remo Song Contest. He was more than happy to share a few things with esctoday.com , during a chat with him during the special Belgrade Confluence cruise last Monday. The whole Swiss delegation were on the cruise last Monday relaxing and unwinding from the rehearsels.
Paolo prefered to be interviewed in Spanish, rather than in Italian or English, a language that he speaks fluently. Paolo told us that he was enjoying the sights and sounds of Belgrade during the cruise and that he was relaxed. He revealed that he will be releasing his latest album Corro Via in the USA and South America very soon. When asked how did he speak so fluent Spanish, he answered that he has been in the Latin American musical industry for many years.
We asked the Swiss artist which was his favourite entry at this year's Eurovision Song Contest and who did he see as his biggest rival. In return Paolo said that he had not listened to all the songs and did not want to listen to them before the contest. He went on to express that for him all the competing artists were equal and each and every one of them shared the same quest to win the Eurovision Song Contest.
Paolo told us that he has recorded this year's Swiss entry in English and Italian and is planning to record it in Spanish soon. He was born and brought up in Switzerland, he said this year marked his 5th participation in 7 years in the well known San Remo Song Festival which is held annually in San Remo Italy. To conclude we asked him if Italy would return to Eurovision after his participation at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Paolo told us that Eurovision doesn't have to look for Italy, but Italy has to look for Eurovision!

Does not make sense to me. Why didn't he release the Spanish and English versions BEFORE the contest? He didn't make any promotion and I am quite sure that's the answer for his disqualification for the final. Paolo, fire your producer NOW! You did everything wrong!
Forget about Italy and San Marino next year
Berlusconi is back
Sorry guys
lets try in 2013
Chris... please... not joke ;-)
ITALY WILL RETURN IN MOSCOW 2009. CHOICE HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE AND WILL BE WITH SILVIO BERLUSCONI SINGING "TI VOGLIO TANTO BENE VLADIMIR".
Come back and play with us Italy!
if he would qualify, that will mean that 2 out of 3 italian language songs will be in the final(well, one part romanian...), and if either wins, we might see italy back next year... paolo has bigger chances then vlad and nico if you ask me, but it's just my opinion
