Dorian Steidl and Nicole Kuntner
EDC: Austria selected their dancers
With a mix of foxtrot, jive and quickstep and three changes of costumes, dancers Dorian Steidl and Nicole Kunter won the Austrian national final for Eurovision Dance Contest and will therefore represent their country in Glasgow on September 6th.
Dorian Steidl is already a popular face with Austrians. He appeared in the comedy series DeLuca, aired on the public channel ORF. Since November 1999, every Saturday he presents ORF's Gameshow. Later in 2001, he became host of the show Romy gala. Besides that, he continued working at Radio Steiermark. Dorian enjoys a strong education in music (he learned classic guitar at the Conservatory of Graz for eight years) and Economics (graduate in Economic Management at Karl Franzens University).
Nicole enjoys a long-running dancing career. She started dancing in 1992 and has already appeared on ORF's dance show Dancing stars, 2nd and 3rd seasons, placing 8th and 7th respectively.

Her name is not so embarassing as in English because Kuntner is pronounced like "put" in English, so all juvenile people: nothing to laugh about, sorry ;-))
I like the EDC. What happened to the story about Germany withdrawing. It seems to have disappeared fro this site and a couple of others.... was it based on rumour or fact?
hmm, I guess her name isn't that unfortunate in German.
Anyway, good luck to Dorian and Nicole
OMG Richard I just noticed that too!!!
Its quite funny but I do feel sorry for her with a surname like that!
Poor woman, what an unfortunate name :-(
Well, I really enjoyed the national competition... In contrast to singing, Austria seems to be really good in dancing!
It was so predicatable that Nicole and Dorian would win as they won the latest edition of Dancing Stars!
Not that they aren't good but I am disappointed about the result! Zabine and Alex were the best and most original couple! They were the clear choice for me!
Zabine is actually a musician, she compted in the 2004 national final in Austria with a really good song, "Shine On".
But Austrians had no taste as usual and she only got 7th while some crap won! Austrian television was actually so ashamed that they didn't support their own entry AT ALL! lol
Anyway, good luck to Dorian and Nicole!
By the way Germany have apparently withdrawn from the eurovision dance 2008, due to low tv ratings in 2007.
