Cime sam te zasluzila
Croatia: Emiljia Kokic releases new album
Emilija Kokic, the popular Croatian star who won the Eurovision Song Contest for former Yugoslavia in 1989 as lead singer of the band Riva, is releasing her much awaited latest album next week. The album is called Cime sam te zasluzila (What have I done to deserve you) and besides new songs in Croatian, it comprises songs that have already reached top positions on international charts (I'll never fall in love again and This is me). Anđeo (The Angel) , the song Emilija composed for this year's Croatian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest is also included in the album. On June 23, the album will be available in shops and download stores.
Emilija's career started in the eighties when she was singled out by Croatian composer Rajko Dujmic who wrote Rock me, the song that brought former Yugoslavia their first and only victory from its debut in 1961 to the last one 31 years later. Riva had a very successful career all around former Yugoslavia. After the band broke up, Emilija went on with her solo career releasing five albums ,the last to date in 2001.
