Confluence of voices

Serbia: Serifovic and Mauda to record a duet

A few days ago Marija Serifovic revealed that she is currently working on her international album which will include a song sang together with an international star who now proves to be this year's Israeli representative in the Eurovision Song Contest, Boaz Mauda.

The deal was proposed to Marija during the recent Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade and as soon as she heard Boaz's voice, she immediately agreed to a duet with him: "When I was offered cooperation with him, I wanted to hear his voice and I was really fascinated, because he has a voice of an angel. That was a main prerequisite for our cooperation. I am really thrilled because the Serbian audience noticed him right away and I am sure that our duet, which is going to be completed soon, will be very successful," she says. The final agreement between the two artists took place during the Budva festival last week in which Boaz participated this year.

Apart from the artistic "confluence", Marija and Boaz seem to have hit it off ever since they met back in May: "Boaz and I have understood each other perfectly since the first moment we met. We both have our feet on the ground, regardless of the success we achieved, so I believe that we will stay friends, apart from having a successful business cooperation," says last year's Eurovision Song Contest winner.

Boaz is also very happy about this cooperation: "Marija has a powerful, emotional, strong, incredible voice. She sings from her heart and it seems as if she speaks to each of us. I think that the combination of our voices will be very interesting, something very special and unique," the young singer says. Both singers feel confident that their new project will be a success.

i do not agree that her voice is that god live..i have noticed that she has problems singing properly and up to the end a 3 minute song.but i found molitva pretty moving, i knew it would win and i was very happy thast it did win

One of these has the voice of a feminine angel . . . . . . the other one is Marija Serifovic! :)

Anyway, I think this duet will be great, they both have really good voices :D :L

I always prefered Marija singing live then her studio versions.
She always sings good live, just some people don't like her strong and loud voice then

I haven't heard Marija in other songs except Molitva, which I didn't like as a song, but she does have a good voice.
Boaz on the other hand has a good voice, too, but it's a little too..........soft (not sure if it's the right word) for my taste.

Pau, i agree with you on this..i also think the only time Marija could sing live very well was in the ESC 2007..before and after not..but i think she deserved to win, still

Boaz has much more voice than Marija, and despite she won for Serbia, he is much better singer than her. Anyway a duet could be good, since probably they will never perform it live (which btw is something I'm happy for after her live performances).

me on the other hand thinks this duet will be depressingly sleepy!

@cpbija 89,

I don't mean it in a horrible way my friend. I think she was such a deserved winner last year, love her song. But it's like such a big chance she missed, being the winner last year and we didn't even get the release of the winning song. That's a pity my friend. Although I have the impression that she does not have a rofile to become an international star. But he who from the last 20 years had some success after their winning ? I believe only Celine Dion...

Wha a fantastic collaboration! I am thrilled and can't wait to hear their duet! I loved Boaz this year! His voice is so distinctive and remarkable and his beautiful song in Hebrew was perfect. Furthermore, the Israeli team gave one of the best and most touching performances this year!

@ marc

Well Ruslana waited for 3 years to make international album she was speaking about since 2004.
Marija didn't want to make English album before making er 3rd Serbian, becoze she said she wants to have a good career in her own country and international career was not her 1st plan. Like she said for last Eurovision, she didn't want to win to make suces in west and realise her single in west, her wish was to bring ESC to Belgrade and give us the chance to organise the contest and she made it. And I respect her for that. She's the only winner who sang her song in native language after 1998.

I'm sure she will have a great album again, like the Serbian one is.
If people in Europe don't want to listen to her, it's ok, she will always have so many people who listens her music in Serbia.

@ ajdin

speaking English doesn't have so much influence on singing.
Serebro girl didn't speak any ENglish, but when she wang her song in Helsinki it sounds quite good

You never know, marc. She may do well but yes, she shouldn't have waited this long.

Why did Maria wait so long before she released her first "international" album. She is already long forgotten outside Balkan. Sorry sweetheart, next time better. She had a whole year to make herself being heard, and we heard nothing. Not even her Eurovision entry, she only came in a negative way in the media, and now even after the next festival, she wants to bring an International album ? I really do not understand.

just fantastic.
cant wait to hear that duet

they both have amazing voices that no many ESC participant have had. good luck to them

im very happy our Serbian singers work with best of bests voices of ESC. Beauty Queens made duet with Portugal's Vania, and now Marija with Boaz.

I would like it not to be in English

I think it will be an interesting duet, I wonder if they'll do it in English.
PS Is Boaz considered an international star?

that is a very intersting duet from its gender aspect: feminine voice: a man(Mauda), femminine voice: a woman(Marija)..interesting.... .
