Spain: Nieto to join Rosa in Glasgow

The Spanish dancing couple for the forthcoming Eurovision Dance Contest is finally fully known: Rosa López who represented Spain at Eurovision Song Contest 2002 will be joined by Nieto, winner of the show ¡Quiero bailar!

A panel of expert jurors elected the male dancer who will represent Spain in Glasgow together with Rosa. Nieto beat other two finalist dancers and therefore was awarded with € 30,000 and the ticket to Glasgow.

Eurovision Dance Contest 2008 will be held on September 6th.

Going to the EDC was a secondary prize for one of the male dancers, but not the main prize in the contest. Nieto happened to win both prizes anyway.

Jonny K> Well the fact is that the main aim of "Quiero Bailar" was not to select the dancing couple for EDC. It was like an extra selection. The main aim of "Quiero Bailar" was a typical dancing contest. Nieto won both of the contests: the one selecting Rosa's partner (with just boys participating, and the winner selected by a jury) and the one selecting the winner of "Quiero Bailar"

I don't understand . . . . . there were women in the Spanish final, although Rosa has already been chosen as the female half of the duo. Does that mean that there might have been two females dancing at EDC for Spain?
