Belgium: Kate Ryan performed on Spanish TV

Spanish viewers last night could watch the Belgian 2006 Eurovision representative Kate Ryan performing at the show Operación Triunfo which has brought to fame to many well-established artists nowadays such as David Bisbal or Rosa.

Kate Ryan offered two performances last night. In the beginning of the programme, Kate jumped in to stage to sing her latest hit, Ella elle l'a. The 2006 Belgian representative appeared dressed in a tight black corset and got a warm welcome from the audience.

Next appearance came later. Kate was this time accompanied by Soraya Arnelas, the runner-up of the 2005 edition of Operación Triunfo. They both performed their duet Tonight we ride / No digas que no, sung in English and Spanish.

You can watch their joint perfomance below:

As far as torsos go give a Greek god any day. Torsos from Andorra, San Marino or Belgium just dont measure up

I don't know why but I find this comment very funny :D

Kate Ryan can sing but she's got as much charisma as a wet sock.

Vincent, they are both excellent entries. You see it's also so difficult to predict what will do well and what won't. I loved Greece 2001, so much better than her 2006 super kitsh song but he.... everyone his/her own taste. I like to tease you guys, off course I would be very happy if Greece would win, I mean no hotel, back stage passes etc....

Mina I forgot to tell you but I am not just married to a georgous Greek, a well conected aswell.... But that's all I wanna say about it. Pretty sure if we would meet in Athens for a coffee that you would know my husband.

ooopss... correction: i meant of course Greece 1977, "Mathima Solfege", a higly entertaining entry and a good song, which was considered back then one of the favourites

@marc:
well , with 50 pts you do not even finish top15 in te semis..with this score you may end somewhere 16th-18th in the final..
And we seem to have different taste: for me a children song was not Sarbel 2007, but Lordi 2006, who by the way showed no torso and won, plus they do not come from Eastern or Balkan Europe. And yes i didn't like the clothes of Sarbel either..but he didn't show anything at all from his body, which is not bad at all.
And Greece was for me at leat two more times robbed in the past: 1975 and 2001. so that is why now is gonna get the first double victory for a country since the televoting has been introduced..well i think and hope so :-)

About Sakis: one torso on its own is not enough t win an ESC or to get a ESC position

How true...in general being sexy isn't enough..because don't tell me that Marija was sexier than Sarbel..and I'm using that example because Greece is among the 'favourites' of the televoting system and , logically, a sexy boy by a country with diaspora/neighbour voting should get to top 3, even without a good voice (like Sakis according to marc's words)...but he didn't.
So, it's not that simple.

Oh and why my husband doesn't like Sarbel ? First of all he really dislikes the whole contest, but I force him to watch it together with me. Together with about 20-25 friends (most of them Greek), my husband likes real music, not really the kind of music they "produce" for Eurovision. Sarbel, looked like a child, samg a childrensong and even more the way they dressed him was below everything.... BUT on the night my Greek harem at home were (typical Greek) yapping, screeming, drinking and defenetitely NOT watching the contest but (and that's where the problem lies) they all voted about 20 times for the Sarbel child.... And that pisses me off

Vincent my friend,

Depends what country the torso is coming from.... A belgian torsa won't do anything, corret but a Greek, Eastern European or balkanese torso is without any doubt good for at least 50 points.

@marc:
sorry with wallonish, i ment actually flammish, well to be more accurate the version of dutch, which half of Belgium speaks as a mothe tongue..
As for your husband: why didn't he like Sarbel? i mean this guy is very handsome, and i suppose he would appeal to many gay men.
As for Anna Vissi and "Everything": for me it is also the best greek entry ever and it deserved a top3 position. I remember very well back then, ESC fans all around Europe and bookmakers were expecting her to score highly much more than Greeks in Greece did back then. And i think nobody wanted Greece to win 2 years in a row, so for me it was tactical voting which "robbed" Anna a better position.
About Sakis: one torso on its own is not enough t win an ESC or to get a ESC position. In the last years we have seen some more naked torsos who did not even pass the finals. you sound again a bit jealus to me..can it be? :-)

Sweetheart he is Greek, gay ... what more do you want... Off course he loves Sakis. He hated Kalimoira, Sarbel, Anna but he adores Sakis. That's why he took me, I am the closest to Sakis he could find....hahahahaha (I wish)

I know you do sweet Mina... and in case of Anna, you guys are robbed. She was, is and will always be an amazing artist. But Sakis, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOO

I have the feeling the Greeks getting a bit too big for their own boats just like when Anna went, she was going to win aswell.... Dangerous game..

Oh, come on marc, we love Sakis, of course we're hoping. Of course we believed in Anna, too and I still think she deserved to be in the top 3, not because I'm Greek but because she was perfect that night and I loved the song. If, by any chance, I find Sakis's song or performance not good I won't have any problem admitting it...and supporting some other country. But for now, let us hope :x

Kate Ryan is untalented. Can't see anything special to her.
By the way, in 2006 she received nul from Spain but now she has a hit.

Vincent, so Kate Ryan and Sakis would be the perfect couple ... She has the legs, he has the torso... together they make up a full artist... And what do you mean with wallnish ???? is that a new language or what ? I have the feeling the Greeks getting a bit too big for their own boats, just like when Anna went, she was going to win aswell.... Dangerous game...
