Romania: Sistem's second international song contest

Sistem's second international song contest has already started. It is called "Battle of songs" and it's an open song contest for all the composers around the world. The initiative is Sistem's leader, Zoli Toth. Sistem is the band that represented Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev, where they performed - along with Luminita Anghel - the song Let me try and ended up 3rd after winning the semi final, which makes them the most succesful Romanian entrants in the contest.
Battle of songs, is a song contest for all the music composers and writers from all over the world having as target to discover and of course to promote new talents in the music industry.

A 10.000 euro prize awaits the winner of the contest. Besides that prize, the songs will be heard by many important people of the show industry, TV, Radio stations, record companies, and "Battle of songs" will find for the winning song the proper Romanian artist to perform it. The winner will also have the opportunity to meet and  be judged by famous and important personalities that make up the jury team. These are:

  • Dana Adam (Media Pro Music)
  • Tiberiu Crisan- BESTMUSIC.RO (Host of radio programs, music journalist)
  • Catalin Muraru (A & R Manager of Roton record company)
  • Bogdan Pavlica RADIO ROMANIA ACTUALITATI
  • Dan Popi (Manager of Media Services record company, EMI licensed in Romania)
  • Pussycat (DJ at KISS FM)
  • Nono Semen PRO FM
  • Zoli Toth (STAR MANAGEMENT)

I loved "Let Me Try" !! It should have won !! Greece was good that year, but Romania was much much better, I think =)

I liked "Let me try" but I didn't think it deserved to be in 3rd place. There were better songs in 2005 imo, for instance Switzerland and Norway. Anyway, good luck to them :)
(If Romania had sent Biondo's "Shine" this year that would have been my favourite Romanian entry)

I was sooo surprised that Romania WON (!!!) the semi final in 2005 with "Let Me Try". But then again, all my favourites in 2005 didn't make the final: sLOVEnia, Netherlands, Iceland, Andorra... only Hungary and Israel made it.
But in the final, I was lucky: My two big favourites came first and second. I voted for Greece and Malta back then... I just never understood why this song did so well, maybe it was the rather unusual and original performance.

Great :)
Their 2005 song was good, but for me it shouldn't have won the semis. I think it was over-rated, a good song but for me it shouldn't have been so high. But good luck to them anyway :L
