France : Patrick Fiori’s tribute to film scores
“L’assassinat du Duc de Guise” is said to be the very first film featuring a piece of music, especially written by famous French composer Camille Saint-Saëns for the occasion, the website of Fiori states. Patrick has chosen a number of very well-known scores from French and international movies for his forthcoming album.
Noone knows exactly the track-listing of the forthcoming CD and this has caused quite a lot of speculation by Fiori’s fans on the artist’s blog. Strings parts of the songs were recently recorded in Budapest.
Meanwhile, Patrick Fiori is still touring. Last week, he was in Québec (Canada) and on August 31st, he was part of the closing show of the French-speaking film festival in Angoulême. Next September 21 st, the artist will perform in a small town, Brue-Auriac (South-East of France), together with fellow musicians Michael Jones and Jacques Veneruso, to raise funds for the national day against cystic fibrosis. Later this year, he will sing in famous Parisian concert hall “La Salle Gaveau”, with the partnership of French radio station “Chérie FM” and his diary also includes a date in Moscow, in December. With “Mama Corsica”, Patrick Fiori represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest and placed 4th in 1993.

Ireland was the best in 1993 - I love a lot France's modern entries Sebastien being the best but Mama Corsica is absolutely tuneless
He was just perfect in 1993... :-)))
Patrick is a good singer but "Mama Corsica" is not one of my favourites.
filipi ramos:
I'm glad to see that you liked the Swedish entry
So did I. It reminds me a little of The Beach Boys.
My favourite in 1993 is The UK but I also love the Belgian entry which undeservedly ended up last.
I like his 1993 song alot, although its not my favourite.
My top 3 is -
=1: Netherlands
=1: UK
3: Ireland
Loved that song, one of the best French entries ever to my opinion. Unfortunatly never heard of him since.
Well, I wish him all the best in his further carreer.
Do you think so? Me too... His song is my 3rd ever favourite, only beaten by Ireland 1987 (2nd) and Portugal 2008 (my favourte ever). In fact, in 1993, my top 3 were right like this:
1st -France - Mamma corsica (#4)
2nd - Norway - Alle mine tankar (#5)
3rd - The Netherlands - Vrede (#6)
4th - Sweden - Arvingarna (#7)
....
11th - UK - Better the devil you know (#2)
12th - Switzerland - Moi tout simplement (#3)
13th - Ireland - In your eyes (#1)
One of the best ever french singers, that should have won in 1993 with the great MAMA CORSICA!
