Album and tour for the duo
Sweden: Lena + Orup release new album
The first single from the forthcoming album is called Nu när du har gått and will be released on the 22nd of September.
The collaboration first started with a special written song to Melodifestivalen 2004. Lena won with Det gör ont and It hurts finished in joint 5th place in Eurovision Song Contest.
After that Lena and Orup did two albums together with Lena as a solo singer, Det gör ont en stund på natten men ingenting på dan 2004 and Jag ångrar ingenting 2005 that spawned hit singles like Delirium, Lena anthem, Unga pojkar & äldre män and Han jobbar i affär.
In the beginning of 2007 they joined forces for the show Lena + Orup. It was a huge success and had sold out shows in Stockholm and Goteborg, runing until May 2008. This autumn the show will go on on tour across Sweden.
Now they take their collaboration one step further, making an duet album together. This time it’s not only Orup who writes the songs, half of the songs has Philipsson also been involved with in the writing process. The album has ten songs, five of those is co-written by Lena. The producers is Peter Månsson and Anders Hansson.
"After all the fun we have had together, we could not resist to record an album together" says Lena Philipsson. The sound of the songs will feel pop and soul with the foot placed in the 60s and 70s music. The album Dubbel (Double) will be released in October.

"Bohemian rhapsody" is great
Queen were such a good band.
Stockholm
I like "don't stop me now" aswell, but my all time favourite is "bohemian rhapsody"!
And thanks for the Linda video!
@inca
Åhå Jan, jag trodde du var "utlänning"...
=====
Yes, I am a foreigner. I have only been in Sweden 5-6 days and not planning to return.
Jonny
I found the show with Linda Bengtzing on SVT Play.
Linda-9 19:29 Radio ga-ga 22:47 (Lill 13:37)

Jonny
Yes
He also said "that was a lovely moment, well done" (but not in this clip). Lill said "I just wanted you to wake up a little".
I think Queen's "Don't stop me now" is good too.
Stockholm
lol that was the part when Terry said "they've got a knockabout sense of humour the swedes haven't they!"
And I like "radio ga-ga", its one of my favourite queen songs
Jonny
No, she was just singing. I guess you can watch it tomorrow if you like. In the show she sang Queen's "Radio Ga Ga" together with one of the panelists in this year's Preview show. They also showed that clip of Lill Lindfors from 1985 when she dropped her skirt and it was nice to hear Terry's voice again
Stockholm
Yessssssss Linda!!!!!
OMG what was she like at 9 years old!?? Was she as mean about Carola as Sanna was lol!!
Jonny
You have to see Linda (am I right?) performing when she was 9 years old
Jonny
I think I know which song you mean. In that case the singer will be on SVT in about 15 minutes
It's a kind of quiz show but they will also sing and perform. I'll let you know if it's worth watching on SVT Play.
I agree that "Invincible" sounds better in Swedish, but I prefer the english version to "it hurts", although I don't speak Swedish so I can't compare the lyrics, I think "Invincible" flows better in Swedish
(My favourite song of all time is sung in Swedish
)
Inca
I agree with you that the Swedish versions of "It hurts" and "Invincible" are better. Still "Invincible" was originally written in English and "translated" into Swedish (by Carola and Gson).
great! love lena ph!
Åhå Jan, jag trodde du var "utlänning"...
The reason that "we" sing in English in the ESC is simply that everybody thinks we would do even worse in Swedish. Which we probably would.
What I hate about that is that people think they can write lyrics in English - but they can't. Det gör ont - It hurts - had decent pop lyrics in Swedish that were totally lost in English. The lyrics to Evighet are actually pretty good - which became obvious in Andersson-Wijs version - but Invincible...puhleeze.
I just noticed Sweden is now for the longest time without victory since the first victory unless they win in 2009
1974-1984 1984-19911991-1999 1999-.....
@Inca
Svenska artister kan inte sjunga på svenska. Varför är det nästa år 11 år sedan vi hörde svenska på Melodifestivalen Europa ?
Swedish artists can't sing in Swedish. Why is it next year 11 years since we heard Swedish at the ESC ?
Good luck to Lena although I was hoping to see her in the MF.
This clearly means that there will be no Lena Ph in MF this year, or they wouldn't have released the album until May.
@ Jan 1964: She always sings in Swedish, "It Hurts" was translated for ESC only.
Three words: "Get a room"
Woh, she sings in Swedish.
Lena news again.....
Yes! Really good news!
I saw the Lena+Orup show in Gothenburg 6 months ago. They work really well together on stage. I would love to see them on their tour doing "original duo songs" and not just their own, old, material.
Lena is my soulmate
ok how nice........
