Live
The show has started.
To open the show, Mariana Popova performs her 2006 Eurovision Song Contest entry Let me cry. The presenters are the same as last year.
After the introduction of the juries, a video reminds of Dima Bilan's winning performance in Belgrade. The voting has started. You can vote by SMS while one vote costs 1,20€.
1. Monika Kirovska - I won
A Bulgarian diva opens the show. Monika opened last year's Bulgarian selection too with the song Bring me back my freedom. Unfortunately she reached only the 16th place in the first three quarterfinals. I won is a catchy poprock song with a good melody. She is accompanied by a guitar player who is also a backing singer. The vocal performance is not flawless.
2. Emil Sokolov - Deystvitelnost ili izmama
Emil is wearing a shiny silver shirt and he is playing the guitar while singing his rock song about Reality or deception. Again, the vocals are not perfect.
3. I Velina - Ready for love
The song Ready for love is a ballad. The song is very strong as is her singing even if it could better. The crowd seems to like her song.
4. Perfect Stranger - I promise
Perfect stranger is a rock band. The song I promise sound very promising, the comments on TV are very positive. The band includes two singers, a drummer, bass player, guitarist and a keyboard player.
5. Venelina Milanova - Neka s pesen
The last song for tonight. It's an electro-pop entry. With two backing singers and two dancers, Venelina rocks the stage with a strong melody and a strong voice.
The juries are giving their comments now.
10 minutes of voting have started.
The televoting results:
- Perfect Stranger - 38.60 %
- I Velina - 32.22 %
- Venelina Milanova - 22.04 %
- Emil Sokolov - 4.86 %
- Monika Kirovska - 2.28 %

@imp
yes you are right
maybe it was 15 october
@ Vasil: Yes? I have not followed it so closely last year. But isn't there a rule that entrys must not have been released commercially or played in public before October the first? How is it possible then to start in Mid-September?
@Mila and Imp
Last year the bulgarian preselection(EuroBGVision) started on 15 september!So we didnt get the idea from iceland
Good Luck Be A star!I hope that from those 50 song will be one good xDxD
If there isnt the wildcards will be
@ Glen:
1 from jury (in this case I Velina)
then
2 highest from Televoting (in this case Perfect Stranger and Venelina)
to next round (End of October)
I like I Velina... she still needs to improve her voice a bit (and maybe that Serebro outfit), but the song is pretty good, actually.
I want MP3s from Bulgarian NF too! :]
So, someone please explain this format!
Okay the way I get it.
Perfect Stranger & I Velina are through to the next round.
So whats happened to Venelina, Emil & Monika?
@ Mile: Maybe they followed Icelands example from last year. I thinks it's great. The summer without eurovision was boring enough.^^
I just don't know why they started their selection so early...???
I also watched the 5 songs on youtube but I doubt that we've seen the winner yet
I liked "You're not alone" though, thanks Marc for posting it.
Did someone expect to hear a good song? I didn't.
Really bad songs. But well, this is just a first heat. Lets hope for better.
Bad songs!
If you have missed it, on this page is a link to a stream of the show:

I just watched all 5 songs on youtube and I'm sorry, I didn't like any of them
IT WAS SO BORING
(((
Missed it Are the studio mp3's available?
Everyone, you can watch the songs on youtube (just search the artist and song name).
I didn't have high expectations for the songs this round, the first heats never have any winners. "Perfect Stranger" were okey, the best of the night but it would come last in Eurovision! I reeeeally hope to hear a winner later on...
@ Marc: Nice song. I hope it will do well and that the live performance is convincing also. I like it. Would be nice to hear it in Moscow. But to be a winner song it is too similar to this years winner I think. Unless we have a year of slow male songs similar to the row of strong womens' pop earlier this decade...
This is a song competing in this selection ;

Vasil
Thanks, that would be great. The link didn't work for me tonight
@Mina
If there are on youtube i will put it all on my esc tv and will give you link
Any chance to watch the videos of the winning songs?
Jesse: I think (though I don't know Bulgarian) the jury chose I Velina and the 2 other highest votes with the public joined her.
@ Desirée: Good point.
@ Jesse: Maybe the juries' favourite was one of the three public favourites too.
@Panos
I saw your profil and find that you are from Bulgaria.My msn is vaskooo@hotmail.com if you want to talk
Are you Bulgarian or you are living in Bulgaria only?Your name sounds Greek
I thought it was 1 chosen by the jury and 2 by televoting?
It's not that scary.. today was just a bad heat with only 3 songs that were more or less decent.. which were the last ones
