best composition...France! They chose for originality rather than balladbore again. Good! No wonder it's the best song, the composer / singer (same person.-...also a good sign in ESC!) is very respected in the electronica circles.
best lyrics: Hmmm....lyrics get far too little attention in ESC.- Instead many focus on shallow stage acts, way of dressing etc....I'd say Finland have the best lyrics. They are funny....a nice parody of "over-machoness". But, those lyrics are of course NOT to be taken litterarly!.
I wonder if anyone votes for Latia or Spain here....hehe
Came to late for voting in the first category...Can I vote a bit later....plz?? (I was away...I didn't remember my password, now I have it!)
anyway...or not...here are my nominees...out of interest:
best song: France
Best band: Finland (Turkey very close)
best male song: France
Best female: Armenia
Best clothes: I don't care...such things are less important, more shallow.
Best NF song: la revolution sexual / la casa azul Spain - of course! It also won the escmadrid voting of best NF song. (and don't start talking about Coral...indierock is more interesting than retro discoschlager....I prefer THE Coral!)
Portugal - Best Performance, Music, Composer, Lyricist!
@dragan;
I most certainly didn't forget Sebastien Tellier!! No matter how horrible it turned out on "the night" (and it soooooo did!), it was the best entry this year. I saw him live in Oslo, and he is brilliant!
Don't agree with you on Moldova, though, I'm afraid...
Composer: Albania (Adrian Hila)
Lyricist: Albania
composition of the year: Ireland!
lyrics of the year: Latvia!
JUST KIDDING...
I think most of you forgot these two songs which are, in my opinion, high lights of this year's ESC, in this two categories:
Composer of the year: France - Sébastien Tellier
Lyricist of the year: Moldova - A century of love
Dana International!!!!
Composer: Switzerland
Lyricist: Norway
Composer of the year: Armenia (Der Hova)
Lyricist of the year: Norway (Mira)
Composer of the year: Russia
Lyricist of the year: Portugal
Composer of the year: "Oro" by Zeljko Joksimovic Serbia
Lyricist of the year: "O Julissi" by Michel Vangheluwe (Belgium)
I would have voted for Romania for lyricist of the year - but imaginary languages only come along once in a blue moon
!!!
COMPOSER - Andrej Babic for Senhora do Mar.
LYRICIST - Carlos Coelho for Senhora do Mar.
Easy - Babic & Coelho
Poland in both categories
Composer: Iceland
Lyricist: Norway!
Composer: Israel
Lyricist: Russia
Composer: Germany
Lyricist: Iceland
I voted for the Swiss song on both accounts. After all, I class it as the best song this year (in spite of the insipid performance given on the night), so it's only logical.
Composer : Turkey ( portugal come next)
Lyricist: Turkey
(just the best in the contest, awesome philosophical lyrics)
