Where will Tomas be on your list?

    Stockholm,
my top 4 has Finland, France, Spain and Slovenia (or Portugal..I can't decide!) for now...but if you send Malena, Sweden will be my #2 (Waldo isn't letting go of #1..LOL)

PS This year there are so many good songs it's a struggle to get a top 10, sometimes I get confused and leave a song out, then I remember it and wonder where to put it..LOL

I think that's not happening in Sweden........................ ..........................so Malena to Moscow :) :) :)

Well, i'm proud that we arrange a show like this, for sure I am. I just hoped we send our best entries for once. There's so much potential, but for some reason people do not want to see that.

Yeah, I know Carola got a good position. I was actually surprised, because I didn't like that entry. But offcourse I want my country to get a good position, but on the other hand, I think that getting a bad position (if having a bad entry) teaches also a good lesson for next year MF, or atleast that is what I hope. So far, dunno if that really is happening yet though.

You can be proud on your preselection every year!!!MF, that's the most beautiful and interesting show in Europe (for ESC). Maybe MGP is also good, but MF is far better than it!
And maybe you didn't like Carola but she was 5th that's good placement (170 points, just 2 less than "Tornero"!! Come oooooonnn! :)

LOL. I'm trying to rank all songs but I keep changing my mind. Switzerland, Ireland, Denmark and Finland are in my top 4 though so far.

Yes, The Ark's singer Ola Salo :)

    @ Marko Bojic

Yeah, I must try to think more "positive" I know... but I want to be proud at my country in ESC!

If Malena is not winning, i'm ok with Agnes, Alcazar, EMD and Amy too.

My favorites (Nina & Velvet) are unfortunately already eliminated though.

Måns & H.E.A.T. are on my absolute bottom in this year's final (only Rigo & co might take that last place for me if they would qualify from 2nd chance), but I actually like all 2nd chance songs more than Måns and H.E.A.T.

Molly just leaves me indifferent I think.

    Stockholm,
my favourites this year are a surprise for me. A eurodance song, a song with opera, a song from France (which I love as a country but rarely the songs they send to esc), a folk song (Moldova)...I don't think I ever had stranger preferences...lol

Tomas is OK, but I want maybe Andrea to win for Slovakia.................or in the end I am not sure! :)
P.S. Is that The Ark on your profile photo?

    @ mina x

Yeah, Måns is schlager. But it's in the same category as the Charlotte Perrelli type of schlager, that is mixed with disco-pop sound.

"Schlager" in Sweden... hmm, it's difficult to define. But there can be "classic schlager/neo-classic schlager" (80's Carola, Charlotte's '99, Fame '03), "disco-dance-pop schlager" (Måns, Charlotte '08, Carola '06 , Shirley Clamp '05), "pop schlager" (Linda Bengtzing), "ballad schlager" (Molly, Sanna Nielsen '08) and even "ethno schlager" (Sarek '03, Roger Pontare '00).

Malena's song also have parts that are schlager inspired, but not that much i'd say.

I totally agree, Måns' song is pretty mediocre. Not all schlager is necessarily bad, eventhough the sound might be kind of dated, but his song really lacks alot I think.

Great news about Tomas. He's the only one of my Slovakian favourites who qualified :) He has to win.

    Mina
I also loved "La Voix" the first time I heard the snippet but then again I'm an opera fan :D

Last year the public voted for fake cheap tears (but the juries saved it that year)

If you mean Sanna, Empty Room was my big favourite last year..along with Believe. And I believe it would have done better than Hero.

    @ Marko Bojic

I want too, but I know the voters of this country :(

Last year the public voted for fake cheap tears (but the juries saved it that year).
In 2007 the public for the most hyped, but not best.
In 2006 the public for the most hyped, but not best.
In 2005 the public voted correct, but that year, the juries voted awfully wrong.

The last year where both the juries and the public voted for the same, and the best, was in 2004!

    Marko,
I haven't forgotten Tomas ;) Just like I haven't forgotten Waldo or Patricia or all the songs I like :D
It's just there's no article about Slovakia to talk about Tomas..lol

    My Vision,
I just watched Mans performance again..now, I'm not an expert on schlager but am I right that this is schlager? It reminds me a little of Hero but I think Hero had a better beat. I'm afraid I find this song very indifferent :(

Tonight I was out with a friend of mine. In the car I played La Voix and my friend heard it 5 times in a row..she fell in love with it just like I did from the 1st time I heard it. And she's not an opera fan either. It wins you over from the 1st listening...something that very few songs can claim this year. And together with Malena's amazing performance and a good draw...a huge potential winner for me.

    Guys come on!!
With this logic all pop songs are the same and all rock songs too!
La Voix is a great song! Hope Malena will represent Sweden!
