The Boaz, Jelena and Sirusho video

Time to pray video exclusive

The video for the song Time for peace by 2008 Eurovision Song Contest singers Boaz Mauda from Israel, Jelena Tomasovic from serbia and Sirusho from Armenia is now ready for release and esctoday.com can exclusively reveal it for the first time below.

Israel Idol winner Boaz wrote the song based on words written by Israel president and nobel peace prize winner Shimon Peres and another of his own compositions. Jelena and Sirusho added lyrics in their own native languages to complete the moving song. The creation is a peace trio which calls on a dove to come and spread the word of peace is within our grasp.

The videoclip paints the story of the dove with Israeli star ballerina and actress Rona Lee making a special appearance. When the song finishes, she transforms into a real dove and flies over the tower of david in Jerusalem.

The world premiere of the song was aired live during the Serbian national final on March 8th, Beovizija. Now you can exclusively see the video for the very first time.

Boaz Mauda explained: "my song 'the fire in your eyes' [Eurovision Song Contest entry 2008] starts with an old Yemenite chant translated 'my soul seeks for a prayer that would make all hearts unite', since than I've been trying to do that with my music. I really hope that with the powerful messages and the wonderful vocals of my friends Sirusho and Jelena, we would unite people's hearts. Serbia was chosen as our first destination to perform the song because I fell in love with the people there at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade".

Jelena Tomasevic:
O my Lord, it’s time to pray
When a new sun shines, make hay
Save my land from deserts day
Call the oceans, snow will melt away

Sirusho:
Aghothir kapuyt yerkink
Aghothir dashti tzaghik
Vor el tsav tchlini
Vor anhog jpta mankik

Boaz Mauda:
Uri, boi el beitenu / Wake up, come to our homes
Kinsharim porsim yadenu / Like eagles we spread our hands
Meleim bezamir uvechol hatov / Filled with nightingales and all that is good

Sirusho:
ժպտա մանկիկ | jpta mankik
Oh My Lord, it’s time to pray,
When the new sun shines, make hay,
Save my land from deserts day
Call the oceans, snow will melt away

Jelena Tomasevic:
Za nas, srce Boga moli,
Da je mir i da nas vodi

Sirusho:
Hayr mer aghothum em
Makrir hogin amboghj tcharits

Boaz Mauda:
Uri, boi el beitenu / Wake up, come to our homes
Kinsharim porsim yadenu / Like eagles we spread our hands

Sirusho:
Hayr mer aghothum em
Makrir hogin amboghj tcharits

Jelena Tomasevic:
Čisto srce Boga moli,
Da je mir i da nas vodi
Pogledaj, spasi nas
Sve boli oteraj

Sirusho:
Save my land from deserts day
Call the ocean, snow will melt away

Boaz Mauda:
Ma nau atsei hazait / How pretty the olive trees have become
Cmo bsamim, atuf habait / Like perfumes, the house is wrapped
Bat nadiv, yafat einayim / Daughter of the generous, with beautifull eyes
Ve’ashir lach bekol / And I’ll sing to you out loud

This song should be sung at ESC 2009!

And it should be sung always ever after, till peace comes to this world!

This is my personal anthem for peace!

Thank all the three and Shimon Peres for supporting this initiative of the young!

Sirusho:

Aghotir gabouyd yergink, aghotir tashdi dzaghig,
Vor el tsav chlini, vor anhok jbda mangig.

Pray blue skies, pray flower of the field,
So there'll be no sorrow, so the children will smile carelessly.

Hayr mer aghotum enk,
Makrir hokin angut charin.

Oh our Lord, we're praying,
Purify the soul of the evil.

yes im really attached but they should pass all these peacefull messages to their nations and to their governments first so they may kill not so many people the next time.
stupid idea to use this serious thing to promote yourself.....

I would love to see this entry in the Eurovision SOng Contest as introduction or interval act in some of the semis, or even in the final.

#Helena Hovanisian

I didn`t mean that it`s the same as in word by word, but has kind of the same message:

Hayr Mer Aghotum Enq, Maqrir Hogin Anguchari is one of the lines Sirusho sings and it means our father we`re praying, clean the sould of unmerciful evil

* Roman Radus
nezim OR Nitzim as it should be pronounced
(netz in singular)means HAWK.
Bazim (Baz in singular)means FALCON.

Ahh Ok, thanks for both of you :-)

Brian is right, nesharim means eagle , and nezim ot bazim are vultures.

Adir - nesharim should be translated as "eagles", since vultures have a more destructive and negative connotation. I think the lyricist meant to desribe a courageous grand bird, not one that feeds on dead animals.

Wed 11 Mar 2009 15:12:55

Hebrew part:

Uri boi el beitinu
Kensharim porsim yadeinu
Melehim bezamir hubecol hatov

Sunlight come to our home,
Like vultures we spread our hands
Full with nightingale with all the pleasant/good

I must say! Serbian is so beautiful language, I fell in love with it!

This song is not my cup of tea... :S

Serbian part :

I think I`m getting it

From our heart we pray God, let there be peace or something? mir means peace right
With clean heart we pray God, again something about peace, let there be peace or something, and then I dont get what pogledaj means, but then it says rescue us/help us, all pain something... basically they pray to God for peace and ask him to help them and take all the pain away or something... am I right?

The Armenian part has the same meaning, and I have already translated it for you here.
