Only four problems out of 84 counts

Winning country's televote glitch

This year's Eurovision Song Contest saw a total of 84 televote counts from the two semi finals and Grand final. The EBU has announced that there were a total of four glitches, one was in Spain where the semi final was not broadcast live, so no televoting took place. Due to a technical problem, televotes and SMS votes in Norway could not be counted in the final.

The EBU have announced that they are "very satisfied" with the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest voting procedures. "At the moment, an independent auditor is re-checking the incoming calls and SMSes. That is a standard procedure. Shortly after that process has been completed, we can announce the total number of votes" Svante Stockselius told their official website.

No problems were reported in the first Eurovision Song Contest semi final on Tuesday 12th May. In the second semi final on Thursday 14th May, one country failed to record enough votes to reach the minimum safety level set to provide a fair score, so only the jury vote was used. Spain's delay in broadcasting the show also meant that their result was the back-up jury score.

In the Eurovision Song Contest final, Hungarian televotes could not be counted due to a technical problem, but SMS voting was ok, so that was used to provide the public voting scores. In Norway, a technical mistake from the local telephone operator meant that both the telephone and SMS votes were unable to be counted. As a result, Norway's jury vote was used.

esctoday.com asked the EBU: "Even though only the jury vote for Norway was used, why was their vote out of the order determined by the voting running order draw?"

Sietse Bakker, Manager of Communications and PR told esctoday.com: "To make time to solve the issue, Norway was moved to the end of the voting. However, it could not be solved in time and we had to, according to the voting rules, only use the jury vote."

Its seams to be a glitch everywhere in this years Eurovision!
Oviusly is the made up Fairytale too!
We want all the results revieled or we are not going to bother to pick up the phone even to vote next year! It smells of corruption !!!

Thanks Sara, I went back and found your link. There's some very good songs on there, and some very bizarre ones (Funny Little World, 13 Horses). I hope the album will be a big success for him!

Does anyone know which country got so few votes from televoters that they had to use the jury vote? Could it have been Albania? or Czech Republic?

@Layla ours voodoo to Loboda was succesfull ...LOL @Turquality i m so happy beacuse Cyprus didnt gave her a single point ! I was afraid that Ukraien will get from Cyprus 10 points beacuse of Ukrainian immigrants here, but Cyprus jury team make a good work :) ZERO points to Ukraine and 1 point to Russia !!!! That 2 countreys always get 10 and 8 points from Cyprus even and if they send silly songs, but this year nothing and i feel so sorry for that :( ( mouahahahahahahahahahah LOL i m jumbing up and down ) ..LOL

if you read svetlana's interview when she came to turkey.. you would agree that she is just a foolish person..really i am not trying to insult her.. i don't remember the full text but these r some parts from her interview :
" hadise is a beatiful girl but i am more sexy and more hot than her.. if you ask a turkish men of course he would choose me to her.. we asked hadise to make a competition between she and me but they didn't answer us..i think she scared when she heard my name.. i can race with her in every places.. in eurovision , firstly authorities didn't give me any chance to be succesfull but now everybody understood that i am a certainly in top 3 and most probably the winner.. bla bla bla.."
what a woman..!

@sarytale
well everyone says they "can't sing" but I don't believe it in your case, well, stil believe you could represent Norway one day soon..I myself am journalist(main job) but an singer/songwriter too and one day hope to get one of my songs to Eurovision, anyway here I am singing my cousin's Danish entry song 1990 (sorry for accent, Danish is my 3rd language after English and Spanish!), but I have plenty of other songs too for Eurovision that I hope you and Eurovizz etc will sing soon! will send in next message I hope!

paul c:
Erase the last line from my comment....I saw you wrote you were a singer and songwriter...I was a bit to quick there.

here = hear...gosh, why do I always write that word wrong!

Eurovizz and lina:
I will join you girls in your crying-choir if that happens...hehe. One thing is to want something, but another thing is "does Ukraine really want to send her again"?....hehe :P Besides, does she have the time? She had to sell her house for the Hell Machine(Killer-Wheel) so she may need to take some extra jobs for a while to get it back maybe? :P

paul c:
Hehe, I'm serious...I really can't sing. The only time I tried Karaoke was at a ferry boat between Norway and Denmark. I couldn't here my own voice when I sang, thought it was something wrong with the microphone so I started to scream....and I promise you, that wasn't pretty.. LOL! But thanks for having confidence in me....hehe. Maybe I will put my email up on my profile one of the coming days for a short while for those who want it...if so, you can send me the songs to get my judgement. hehe. Do you sing too, or are you just a songwriteR?

@sarytale
well I think that's a good measure, eurovizz or someone told me they spent 2 kebab's worth of sms on voting! (I myself 7 euros worth...for nothing sigh...!), anyway, are any of u euro friends interested in sending a song next year? just despite being a journalist am also a singer/songwriter with the hope of sending a song one day to Eurovision...Sarytale, u could sing it for Norway !! (my second cousin sang for Denmark in 1990 so I have some connection!)

Telenor and Netcom will not charge telephone customers.

"We believe it is wrong that our customers should pay for a service they didn't get, and that they should be confident that when they are charged, they get what they paid for, "said information officer Elisabeth Evjen in Telenor to VG Nett
We shall now go through the lists to ensure that no one will be charged for their votes. Whether the sum is deleted from the invoice, or as 5 NOK pr vote will be credited on your next bill. The same with Netcom customers".

It doesn't help on the result, but at least the ones who voted wont have to pay for "nothing", so thats good :)

and besides, am sure TVE tunes in to these websites now and again with their lawyers watching, so I say "hola a todos, sobre todo un abrazo : Sr Ramírez"...

@ jamie Neagle
In theory that's a positive way to get information from TV channels but in practice and from experience it never works, the best way is to push a journalist, who generally has nothing to do with the state channel itself, to push for information that in fact, by law, should be legally available, but in practice is "hidden" by the state TV company themselves (for their own benefit of course), an example here in Spain is that TVE will not officially reveal any information, but through various channels, we as journalists (especially freelance ones like me), can obtain certain information via "gaps in the legal system", but it's a hard and exhausting job sometimes..lawyers involved etc, however, I am going to try and do a report myself on Eurovision for a channel that is not TVE...which, in this thread also, is the biggest culprit re voting glitches, so watch this space as they say..

The televoting results are still going through a security check Cindy *(want to scream) *

-----

[b}Norway - 387 pts
Greece - 120 pts

OK?

If Svante will not release a full breakdown of the televote results then perhaps if people were to contact the TV station responsible for each participating country direct and ask very nicely for the TV station to reveal the details of that countries televotes it may yield the televote results for that particular country. This is just one idea of getting the televote results.

Does anyone have any contacts with anyone of the participating TV stations???

Stockholm calling:
Great! Lucky you if you are going there :D :D

Hehe, I found the jetlag-thing a bit weird too..since it is just 2 1/2 hours or something from Oslo-Munich. But he was confused and didn't know which city he was in, so maybe he thought he was in Sydney or something...LOL!! I just translated what was said in the article.. :)

Chris P:
I posted a link a bit earlier down here. You can listen to a clip of all the songs on his album there (also 500 miles) :)

Thorazin:
What was up with the link you posted of Proclaimers. They sang so out of tune....hehe :P
