I was very content with Nelly Ciobanu, actually this was my favourite Moscow song. Apart from that, I concur completely: Moldova is an entirely astounding Eurovision country. In 2008 they managed to realise one of the best preselections ever. As I recall, there were only very few weak songs! Artists like Geta Burlacu, Olia Tira and Dana Marchitan are kind of a showcase for a specific European musical subculture equipping Eurovision with enough musical quality supplies for the future. A small country with a huge cultural potential. Marvellous!
I like this song and think it would have been better if Moldova had chosen "no crime" as their entry for Moscow. Moldova never ceases to amaze me ...the poorest country in the whole of Europe and yet they manage to come up with such good songs and singers!
I don't know the studio version, but I can imagine that it sounds more decent. And this is not really a bad one, I think. You have to consider that this is pure live music having a completely different appeal than any half playback. An almost jazzy tune, chorus is a bit dull.
I noticed that Nico and Marcel Pavel took part in this, too, and I recall right now what fantastic singers Romania sent to the contest in recent years. Back in 2002 Marcel was joined by Monica Anghel. They did not only perform a wonderful duet but almost managed to blow the audience off their chairs. Miss Monica might have been the loudest and most energetic singer who ever entered a Eurovision stage. And she's an extremly gifted one, too.
Last year's Nico made up another duo with Vlad Mirita. They performed a masterpiece decorated with the Marcel Besançon Award for Composition. In Romanian preselection 2007 Nico had presented another high quality tune already, which I fell immediately in love with: "Dulce-amaruie", an almost painfully beautiful atmospheric ballad and magistrally constructed piece of music. Unbelievable that this one failed to qualifiy and was beaten by nice but pretty sober Todomondo.
this is the live version....the studio one is so cool, u got to hear it.
Boring Song...Moldovas Winning Song was better...
