Bregovic was selected!
He'll compose for Serbia, RTS just announced on it's web site...
(lol @ Estonia voting for all Ex-urss countries, so wrong)
@nightelf
If you read my comment I said that you are from montenegro, not that you are there now, maybe i will tell you in the glorious language called Montenegran 'iz Crne(crne)(milove)gore!
I have been recently in Serbia, and I think there is great improvement, but not thanks to people like you...
@Igor
completely agree with you, just I don't think the Bregovic would be a bad choice. I could just imagine Pink being in charge of the Eurovision, and try to imagine their organization of Eurovision, big grand parada party in the arena!
I still hope this isn't true :fingerscrossed: IMO best solution would be the combination of experienced and fresh songwriters, and performers as well. I doubt that being local star is of any importance when it come to contest itself because almost none of them are known everywhere outside the former country. But having familiar names would help to attract wiewers and televotes.
Let alone that Pink will the most likely and deliberately hold it's festival at the same time just to take over some audience from RTS
And that that annoys me the most - instead of joining resources (B92 creativity, Pink's money and stars, and RTS' logistic) they obstruct others in Sertab's way
And that makes you happy!!
It's Stian's boldness that makes me happy. Believe me, nothing that Goran Bregovic does could ever make me happy.

Correction my friend I live in Serbia, and ppl like u make this country look like Dark Age... Have u been to Serbia recently? oooh please don't
It's one thing to say ur opinion on someones work that he does for public... U can have ur opinion on her music as everyone does, I couldn't care less. I was just referring to ur arguments to "hate" someone who you don't know... Have u ever spoke to her??? And what do you know really about her except what u read in yellow press? Nothing! Get a life...
Zurka je bila dobra... Laq noc!
And yes Estonia votes for EX USSR countries alot!!
Just like other EX USSR countries

So your last sentence is very unrealistic!!
To nema veze kakvu pesmu shaljemo, hahha
Finska je proshle godine dobila 10 od Estonije sa zirijem, tako da veze sa vezom nema to kavu cemo mi pesmu poslati!!
@ Igor T
Estonian votes are 80% diaspora and neighbour votes just like EX YU you mentioned - they always vote Finland (similar language and similar nation) , Russia (there are many Russians in Estonia), Lithuania, Latvia (very good friends and neighbours)!!
I don't pay 1 cent for Estonian votes! pffffff..... what, are they maybe World class music experts!! SVASHTA!!
@ Igor T.
Good comment, or article, I must say
Totally agree with you. Especially in last sentence.
Im regard to Karleuša, I'd be ashamed if she'd represent us
Serbian scene, despite our ESC success is actually very awkward, and could be simplified by 3 the most significant TV stations here, which also have their own music labels:
1st we have B92 - western orientated, and self-proclaimed carier of the torch of cultural development. They promote young and quality artists who mostly doesn't care for Eurovision, and probably wouldn't take part in it. Sadly, because mostly they make modern and contemporary music, which Serbia is lacking of, and has been asked for by people here. Also, one has to be honest to admit that they don't have any bigger commercial success - they are known among fans, which is not enough to be voted best, even if they join. On top of that, B92 recently undermines it's credibility itself by trying to be "urban" and commercial at the same time - resulting in broadcasting Big Brother and giving airplay space Jelena Karleuša - which is the total opposite to everything B92 (and I) stand for.
Then, there's Pink - the most commercial of all 3, but...
It's music labels concentrate mostly on turbo folk, where vast majority of is, though being popular, trashy and worthless. So it's hard to believe that RTS, being national broadcaster and holding the right of representative selection, would ever choose someone from Pink's Grand production - add there a significant dose of jealousy on RTS side whose record company doesn't have almost a single local star signed. It goes both ways - Pink having it's own music festival often didn't allow it's (at the time the biggest) stars to participate in Beovizija (god bless it). Beside of folk oriented grand Pink is behind City records: there are most of the pop-stars but (again) many of them are very weak live or prevented from participating same as Grand stars
And finally RTS - often biased towards Pink ond B92, corrupted (remember televote in 2007 when Marija got couple of hudreds (?! - ok, Serbia is small, but not as small as San Marino, for example) votes, due to counting software iregularity? - the word was out that very plausible scenery was that somebody got very good paid to give that job to a certain company), and so on. Not to mention various experts and deserving citizens involved in ESC resulting in rejecting Pink or Grand artists only for being Pink or Grand - it's not that I apt for them, but it seems really unfair because there are decent songs sung by folk artists (as the matter of facts, some songs are real, even good pop, but having Grand label are "a priori" tagged as turbo-folk). Furthermore, their vision of suitable representative is driven by nationality and tradition, as if there no other festival where Serbian heritage could be presented
, so we MUST send something ethnic and "artistic" year after year. And that's why we haven't had many ESC related hits here (eurofans doesn't count) - a few maybe, and a stepping stone for some young artists. Therefore, despite our recent success, I don't consider us especially strong ESC nation, because IMO Eurosong shoud be chance to promote everything we had to offer in music, not just playing safe, as well as achieve the best result possible - but not at the expense of diversity.
That's why I won't be pleased if we choose Bregović - I said once - I'd rather trade another top 10 result for something innovative or different , and would be happier if we once get high points from Estonia than the usual 8-12 from ex-yu countries.
@Night Elf
Well you should know what the dark ages look like, you are from Montenegro!
And anyway I have no double standards, it's one thing to get married to someone for love, and then it ends up not being what you hoped for, or thought it would be, but it's another thing if you are with someone just because he make your career better! I don't like her music and I am entitled to call it disgusting, just like you call me childish.
@Marko

buuuuuuuua
bring back festival preselection!!!
Bregovic sucks!!!
nemke
There are no "poor" taste, there is just different taste in music and everything. Just because u don't like something it doesn't mean it is wrong, bad or poor.
U actually sow her once and by the way she looks u can tell she is plastic wh** who changes her husbands and lovers like socks ??? And that is not childish? Jesus...
P.S. I never said I listen to her music, where did that come from? I am just sick of ppl with double standards that represent Serbia in such light. It's like we live in Dark age here, only worse, and most of those ppl go around say stuff they shouldn't be proud of.
I do not see how my comment is childish. I actually saw Karleusa from 1m away when we were flying together by plane, that woman is the definition of fake and disgusting. Her face doesn't look real, and it looks as if she has been made up of plastic. Try watching a show with her and you will see what I mean. And I am referring to her marriage for the Karic guy that she used only to promote herself on the channel.
Plus I am entitled to an opinion, and I am sticking to it.
After all there is nothing that can be done about your poor taste in music- I am sorry.
OMG Nemke u are such a child...
She had one marriage before, and she is still married to her 2nd husband and has 2 little girls. This is common opinion in Serbia.. If girl had more than one lover or husband she is wh**! Jesus...
And I don't see why can't someone like Bregovic and JK at the same time for God Sake! Ur comment is so childish!
@Marko
The whole point of Eurovision is for each country to send something of their own, something they like. The west and the rest might and might not like it, that is not a big issue. I would rather send a quality song from Bregovic that that moron and whore Karleusa which has changed husbands and lovers like socks, depending on what she needed in her career.
As far as Bregovic goes, I have a lot of friends in both east and west that love him. Then again I dont expect someone who likes Karleusa to like or appreciate B's work.
great news, if true! i'd still like a more modern and pop entry from Serbia, but Bregovic is just fantastic! i love the greek song "Theos an einai" by Alkistis Protopsalti that he composed!!!! Well done, Serbia! Now, find a singer that matches the talent of this composer and you will definitely be in the top10!!!!
oh yes that would be simply awesome.. Kusturica on stage? lol would be great great great !
I also think many Western Europeans wouldn't like Bregovic... to be honest I don't see many Eastern voting for it too. The problem is again and again "why would we care if someone likes our song or not..." and when we don't qualify like last year ppl react OUTRAGES
As for JK... she is not plastic, stupid wh*** Jesus... if Lady Gaga was from Serbia she would get the same comments from many Serbs... That's because we can't understand anything that is different, not usual and boring (that's all that is acceptable in this country).
So my hopes stays for Emina (without Bergovic)!
@marko
i love beauty ,everybody does i guess and if some is hot and loves to sing i can't blame her for this lol and hvala puno dearest u r just so kind
@ Melis
You can like them, coz you look AMAZING, don't have to be jealous of them!
@marko
hahaha yes but there must be a reason under it lol
@ Melis
i really wonder why u r always against hot, sexy female singers
hahahahahah Yes, so true, but that' Laila!! :
@ Nemke
So what if Western Europe doesn't like the song, who cares, we like it.
Hmmmm.....
This is quite supid, why to participate then, he can make that song which "will ppl like" here and don't need to participate in ESC! That's not point of participating in international festival! LOL
@laila
i really wonder why u r always against hot, sexy female singers
