Ik ben verliefd (Shalalie)
The Netherlands send Sieneke to Eurovision
Five acts were singing their own, individual versions of Pierre Kartner's song Ik ben verliefd (Shalalie).
The four jury members- radio DJ Daniël Dekker, singer and actress Tatjana Simic, singer George Baker, and three times Eurovision winner Johnny Logan- each had a 20% influence on the outcome, making the jury vote altogether count 80% of the final outcome. The audience vote had the remaining 20% impact.
The complete results are as follows:
- Sieneke - 2 points (1 point from George Baker, 1 point from Daniël Dekker)
Loekz - 2 points (1 point from Tatjana Simic, 1 point from Johnny Logan) - Vinzzent - 1 points (1 point from the audience)
- Marlous - 0 points
Peggy Mays - 0 points
As there was a tie for first place, it was up to Pierre Kartner to choose the winner. He went for Sieneke.

The 2010 esctoday.com National Final Awards will be held between April and May, which means between the national final season and the Eurovision Song Contest. We will repeat the same format with two rounds for nominations which was used this year - you can read how it works here. However, this time the individual polls for each country will always be held right after the national final, when the entries are still fresh. You can vote for your favourite performance not to qualify in the Dutch national final here.

I think this kind of songs has a very stong tradition on europe...and it´s not all that bad as people are saying...

thank you for your explanation . i also had the thought of explaining someting of our music scene in our country. The Netherlands have a very various music scene. and this song is in the kind of music which is very popular by a great audience. So you can say that is song is representing the traditional dutch music. it is indeed as traditional as the Tukish and Armenian songs from last year.
I love the song and this version but i'm not so sure if it will win.Love to see it qualify for the final.As well as being Vader A braham Pierre was in my opnion an excellent songwriter such songs as'Het Kleine Cafe' and his songs for Wilma.

I think i need to do some explaining about our song for esc 2010.
This is a quite traditional dutch folk song. So just like other countries we went back to the roots you might say.
Netherlands or Holland is known for quite some things, like cheese, tulips,syrupwaffles, windmills, but also traditional streetorgans.
You used to find them on busy streetcorners or in the center of a town...nowadays they are sometimes there if you are lucky.
They bring a cheerful and happy sound into the streets.
The arranment of this song includes such an organ and for all we know now the organ will go to Oslo to.

If you see and hear this clip maybe then you will all understand how traditional this song is for us just like for example Armenian or Turkish songs can be.

oh I just can't make up my mind about it! I think it will either die a complete death or Europe will give it a chance and will do quite well, IMO however she needs a complete stage presence charisma by-pass operation before May! shalalishalalalee..oh whatever!!
I like this song and I think Sineke's version was the most Dutch version there is complete with the Dutch organ at the back. It's happy and catchy and different to what you lot all like "Europop". That's where this will stand out and could better than you think! it is different to the rest completely.
If this doesn't come last I will eat my imaginary hat. While not disgraceful like Scooch was for the UK it is an absolutely worthless piece of garbage. If the Dutch want to do well they need to think out of the box. We sent Tor Endresen and got a well deserved nul points. Ironically he has had some decent entries in MGP but when they finally let him win it was with the worst piece of shait he had ever sung on any stage bar none. Anyways, rant over. I will not say good luck because it would be a lie.

But sorry, it does nothing to me, i see the summer stage on Scheveningen beach for the 60+ generation on a sunday afternoon.
But.. but in a way it's typical Dutch (it could be German as well) and so it's sort of Ethno in it's own way. If we - Dutch and Germans - are not able to win anymore, going schlager again might be some sort of stubbern revenche to have fun again, not taking the whole thing too seriously and knowing very well that is doing absolutely nothing on the scoreboard, but what the hell.... sha la li sha la la...

Yes, there is a big gap between a little green bag and shalalalalie. Though maybe if you use enough little green bag, you will appreciate shalalalie.
Well, this debate made me googleing for infos about Dutch music scene - I didn't knew that George Baker is THE "Little green bag" George Baker. Wow, that's probably one of the coolest songs ever IMO 
I wouldn't mind seeing something like his work from The Netherlands someday
OMG i listened this song several times today and I found it extremly catchy and I'm addicted to it in some strange way!! LOL 
But still that won't force me to vote for it in May 
and don't think it deserves to qualify for the final!
The last time I voted for The Netherlands was...2007 semifinal!

The EA site is very good, I agree! But I want to stress that the website www.eurovisionartists.nl is not run by me, but by very capable other Eurovision afficionados also belonging to the EA team, of which I am a proud member.
Of course I will keep you updated on the conductor project, which will be an English language website. A lot of work will have to be done yet, though.

I agree with Luke and Heine. This song was all day in my head and I couldn't help feeling to dance to it lolol It is so simple, so easy-going, so old fashioned that it hurts.
I think the dutch broadcaster was, despite what many people think, very wise: they knew they will drive all Europe crazy, during 3 months, with "Ik ben verliefd" so that in May everyone is kinda hypnotized and will vote for Netherlands

Yes, still with Eurovision Artists, which has a magazine as well as a website, www.eurovisionartists.nl. The conductor biography website, however, will be an internet site on its own.
