Dejan Kukric denies rumours on Eurovision ban

After yesterday's informations about possible exclusion of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest because of BHRT's severe debts of towards the EBU, Bosnia-Herzegovinian head of delegation, Dejan Kukric, reacted in an open letters to all friend and fans.

Read the whole letter which Dejan Kukric sent to Eurosong.hr and all the Eurovision Song Contest fans:

Dear friends, Eurovision fans,

After yesterday's news about possible ban for Bosnia&Herzegovina on this years Eurovision, I feel need to share some information with you. To avoid further speculation, I wish to inform you that the project BH Eurosong 2010 takes place according to the determined plan. Preparation are going very well for the production of BH Eurosong 2010 show - television premiere of song representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Oslo "Lightning and Thunder" performed by Vukašin Brajic. On Sunday, 14th March 2010, BHRT will have "Small Eurovision" in the studio in Sarajevo. Our dear guests will be representatives of other countries participating in ESC 2010 and a special guest - the winner of ESC 2009 Alexander Rybak. This year we will make the best Eurovision show in the region. I want you to know that BHRT fulfilled all its obligations under the EBU in project of Eurovision Song Contest. This means that we pay fee for participation for the year 2009 (and all previous years), because otherwise we might not be among the 39 countries which EBU has confirmed participation in Oslo. We will also pay this year's participation within the time prescribed by the EBU.

We do not feel crisis in BHRT this year, we live with the crisis and carry it with enormous problems and transition since the nineties. I don’t have to remind you on that. However, we did not want to give up the ESC, because it is one of the rare opportunities to see Bosnia and Herzegovina in a positive light. I'm happy that we have true admirers due to our performances in recent years. We did not go to the ESC just to participate, we wanted to show that we are always among the best. And in this we succeeded. I do not think that deleting Bosnia and Herzegovina from Eurovision family solves problems that BHRT and Bosnia and Herzegovina have, and of which we are very conscious of not running away from them. I am quite sure that this situation is resolved. We who work in BHRT and produce program for all citizens of BiH want that the most. I am also confident that you will enjoy in song "Lightning and Thunder" and that many of you will find Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of favorites on this years Eurovision. See you in Oslo.

Yours sincerely
Dejan Kukric

not only Bosnian broadcaster have financial problems.
the participation of Israel is also not sure.
Israeli broadcaster IBA is in financial crisis.
and they dont find a way to recover from the dets. the broadcaster finishes it broadcasts every night at 22:50. when usualy they broadcast 24 hours. they are not making new programs and broadcasting things from the archives.
if the goverment of Israel will not strim help money to this chanel, i think in few weeks they will close it down and then no Israel in Eurovision. unless chanel 2 or 10 will join the EBU.

@Marko
That's because they had a "luxury problem" with all top 3 guys being great! :D ;) What I can't understand is why Igor didn't place higher. :)

its because in "operation triumph" they often sing in ex yugoslavia language and he didn't do that, he was singing in english all the time and the people how was voiting was not in move with it like they where in the ex yugoslavia language... that's because :)

he has a good voice and i think that he will do great in oslo and i wouldn't be suprised if it come over to be sarajevo 2011 :)

good luck b&h!

I thought it was very formal and sincere for BHRT to send a letter to the fans explaining the issue.

I'm glad Bosnia & Herzegovina are still competing because they send out amazing songs... and very tradition too which is a plus!

I loved reading the letter, especially the ending because he actually promoted "Thunder and Lightning" which just shows how they're taking this serious and that they dont mind joking about the stupid rumour.

Take Care Guys!!!

hi guys
thought this froum was about B&H been thrown out of the ESC for not paying their bill. The ESC is all about making money and whilst I love eurovision more than anything else if it was not making money it would not go ahead. It was supposedly started up to join european countries together, now it is about money , example this year voting lines will be open after the first song, WHY? to make more money. I always love B&H songs!!!!

I like quite a few songs from B & H, but I wouldn't agree that they are always amongst the best as claimed, I don't think I could say that about any country.

Anyway, if they pay their debt, I hope they come up with something good for Oslo, we desperately need some good songs, there are already too many mediocre and bad ones.

Good luck Bosnia & Herzegovina! I hope to see your delegation in Oslo with a great song. Looking at the songs from the last couple of years (mainly since 2006 in my opinion) it'd be a loss not to have Bosnia-H there!

Hey guys, let's just relax a bit! This Max character can't be all too serious about it.

BTW, since we're all defending B&H, I must say I loved Laka's entry, and I went absolutely bananas about Bistra Voda last year :)

Sorry Max, but i'm going to have to disagree with you on that. Bosnia have sent some really good songs to eurovision in recent years. 'Lejla' and 'Bistra Voda' were among the best of their respective years. And i hate to say it, but Laka's song was quite entertaining in 2008! :)

They never send anything good ? where have you been living ? B&H has send very good entries during the last years . Yes , some people though i was crazy for giving my vote to B&H in 2008, but the the song was fantastic.

ofcourse they dont send anything good if the prefred style is europop, but some countries are atleast trying not to send crap music
