Matador for France

Jessy will sing Allez! Ola! Olé!

This year's French entry is entitled Allez! Ola! Olé!, to be performed by Jessy Matador next May in Oslo.

"Allez" means "Come on" in French, "Ola" can refer to the big wave made by successive groups of spectators briefly standing and raising their arms during a football match (or any other sport) and "Olé" is the typical Spanish expression used to cheer something you like. Allez, Ola, Olé is also the title of the official CD compilation published in 1998, during the Football World Cup in France, including songs by various artists from various countries.

The French entry will be released by Wagram label and will be supported by channels of France Télévisions, which aims to make it next Summer's hit.

France will compete at the final of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest final on May 29th, since it's a member of the Big-4 group.

Allez! Ola! Olé!, France wonna get points from Football fans LOL))) !! Very good!! But France would get more points from armenia adding armenian version which so close to french one "QELE"!!!

ADVISE of new title ALLEZ!, QELLEZ!, OLE, OLA much nicer IMO!!

@Pera

I my opinion this is absolutely ridiculous!
Ok then the footbalers at the World Cup have to advertise Eurovision too, maybe a logo on their shirts?
After Patricia Kaas we have an advertisement from Frace!

To those of you complaining about stupid title and he being a "nobody" - may I remind you that Alexander Rybak was not exactly famous outside of Norway before the final. And the title "fairytale" was not very innovative, was it? And the lyrics? I remember people going on in here about how stupid and childish his lyrics were... But as far as I can remember he did quite well.
Judging an entry from the title and the fact that the artist is not knows seems a bit (excuse me for saying it) stupid to me...

I'll skip the most obvious part that we do not know song yet, and stress a few other things: first, why is this title more ridiculous than Qele, Qele - they're almost identical. I was surprised myself with this decision, but now I'm having second toughts. Eurofans are mostly angered but on the big night they will be smaller piece of the voting machine. Out of 200-300 millions of viewers there will be many football lovers. And the event is taking place in late may when it's already hot (or at least it should be). If this song has summer vibe as anounced, it could be surprise.
Remember LT United? In terms of good placing it might do well

There are some sport related songs that I like (they can be quite catchy): Nelly Furtado - Forza, Ricky Martin - La copa de la vida, You'll never walk alone, Dario G - Carnival de Paris, Baddiel and Skinner - Three lions...

As a franch...I am ashamed and angry jsut hearing this stupid title...the title shows that French TV is doing a football promotion and not a song promotion..so this all seems ridiculous to me even if the song that I havn't heard yet should be a hit...please..no MR Berbere again next year fro France...please bring a new euro-Team for France..............I am so ashamed of this motivation....using a song contest to promote a football championship...please French TV..show some professionality...

So much heartache over a song nobody's heard yet... Why exactly do we care so much about the French song? France has done miserably for years and no one has died from it. It's just a song. I'm sure no one expects to like EVERY song in this year's Eurovision. So what if you won't like the French song? It's not the end of the world. Like the Belgian song instead. Or the Turkish, or Swedish, or Israeli, whatever. Pick one you like and enjoy it. Don't get all depressed just because one country chooses a song you don't like. Someone else might enjoy it, and that's important too. We're all in this together, so let there be something for everyone. :)
