Interval Act

Eurovision 2010: Be part of the interval act!

Do you want to be part of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010? Well you can be... NRK the host broadcaster are looking for people to take part in a 'flash dance mob' as part of the interval act at the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010.

Participating cities will be selected soon where the organisers will gather hundreds or even thousands of people who will learn a simple dance which will be filmed during one afternoon and broadcast during the Final of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Through a special Facebook page the organisers will give you the information you need to be able to join and connect with other participants. They are planning to pull off the largest 'flash mob' event in Europe with tens of thousands of people participating.

"We want to share the Eurovision Song Contest, rather than just broadcast it. With 18,000 people live on location in Oslo dancing, plus video footage of large flash mob groups from ten major cities, the song, the movements, the arena, and all the cities will share a common musical experience together" said Peter Svaar, Head of Press for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of host broadcaster NRK.

A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual act for a brief time, then quickly disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails.

Updates about this project will be published via the special face book page here.

@Laila - AND just to inform you - Norway has already arranged the contest TWICE and showed off their culture! We dont need to do the same stuff OVER again! Its about doing something new! Russia had Cirque de soleil and paid hell of a lot of money for it probably - but flash mob is cool, cheap and includes EVERYBODY! it is great! If people DO learn the moves it will look awesome on tv for sure!

AND - in WHICH Norwegian tv-shows have they done flash mob excactly? I just wondered...

And EVEN WORSE is that they are going to include the most annoying people in the whole world in that process - MadCon! For F#*¤%)#¤ sake I HATE THOSE GUYS! The most annoying idiots on the planet! This is a singing contest - not a dance contest! So why do they need to do this unoriginal thing AGAIN for? They do it in every show here it seems.

Oh god, I hate these dance "mobs" or whatever. They're doing that in almost every Norwegian show it seems. Lame and unoriginal. I just know it that they will host one of the worst Eurovisions of all in the last years. They will attempt something "modern" surely and end up making it look ugly and lame like this. Culture is gone and only the Eastern countries seem to be able to brag a little about their culture these days. I liked that about Eurovision - that they could bring something traditional and show their culture, in the postcards and as interval acts, but you'll see, we probably won't have any of it apart from Rybak, lol. :(

More soap opera style selection stuff going on ... Everyone changing songs / singers the last minute. It's a farce really!

On the song. It's a rather cut and dried anthem style ballad to my ears ... and it is the kind of song that needs to be sung flawlessly live to have any impact. Thus I will postpone giving a definite opinion until I have heard this song live.
Good luck!
