The Best of Sertab Erener-En İyiler
Sertab releases new cd album
On 21st March, Sertab will be performing at the Cafe Hayal, in Beyoğlu, in Istanbul. Also later this month at the 29 and 30 she will be performing in the Mevlana - The Alchemist Symphonic Poem together with the Bursa Municipal Symphony Orchestra. The concert will take place at the Kulturpark, in Turkevi, Istanbul.
Sertab’s latest cd contains, apart from the Turkish 2003 winning entry Everyway that I can, her duets with Ricky Martin and Mando (Greece 2003).

This best of album was released independant from Sertab by Sony Music Turkey(her ex-firm). On 15 of April she will release her 8th studio album "Sertab goes to the club with Murat Uncuoglu and Aytekin Kurt". Sertab's performed her songs from previous albums in another style and i hope she will get a great success in European music market with Turkish songs.
While there may be similarities between the two songs mentioned in terms of the oriental sound, there is no speak of a rip-off. And she was a worthy winner that year (someone mentioned she was not) especially since the whole package of song/performance was very effective. Can't remember anyone winning from such an early draw lately (I think she perfomed 4th on te night), which is an accomplishment on its own.
Staying on topic - great that a 'best of' CD is released, it will allow us to hear more of her work. (BTW, that she did not hit international fame until 2003 does not mean a 'best of' CD is premature since she's been working a lot longer before, in Turkey). I own one of her older CDs containing more traditional Turkish music (I bought it in Istanbul in 2004 during the ESC) and it's rather amazing. She is a real singer and quite an artist.

Doesn't matter if the song "Kiss Kiss" was originally written by a Turkish composer or not, you are missing the point. The fact is that "Everyway That I Can" is still a rip-off.

Isn't a Best-Of a bit premature? She haven't even scored any real international hits except a small hit with her winner from 2003. Must admit I didn't like the song too much then, in my eyes not a worthy winner in 2003. But I suppose it was one of the better songs that year. Says a lot about 2003 as a Eurovision year though... Anyway, I also think it is a rip off of Holly Valance's "Kiss Kiss" from 2002. Anyone agree with me?

sertab has an unique voice and she is perfect singer ,sertab is very special her muisic is very quality and her love songs are hitting me so touch.
I adore Sertab Erener. So much of her music is fantastic. Her voice is so unique and her songs so special. I'm so glad she won Eurovision! Who cares about her English anyway? It doesn't make her any less of an artist. And besides, her English pronunciation on No Boundaries is pretty much flawless.

I just remember what I saw and heard on the Turkish ESC final some years ago. I didn´t sound too good IMO. I don´t claim my english is 100% perfect, but then I´m not on international televison either. And PLEASE dont mix up what I have said with Zingo´s opinions. 9,9 times out of 10 I disagree with him.
It´s not me having something against anyone who doesn´t speak perfect english. Get over it.

this discussion is so boring.. who cares if sertab speaks english like this or like that. she is a good artist , and has had hits both in her homecountry, and abroad. i am from norway, and sadly her esc winner wasn`t a hit here.but i wish her the best of luck. would have loved to go to one of her concerts
I really liked the songs in the album. correct choice! anyway guys. i need to tell something to zingo star and annika? who r u to decide if her english is proper or not? my friend who is american (his name is ryan -irish american, not related to turkey in any way- ) asked me if sertab was pure turkish or not because her pronounciation was really good.
and it seems kinda ironic to post a message like this:

Sertab is my 2nd Goddess after Sezen... I've each album of hers. Vur Yüreğim is my favourite.

ha ha ha your english really sucks canım.our language tree is completely diffirent.uralic-altaic language tree.yours is indo_european.so to learn english is not easy to us.but i am studing english translation department at university and we are tought that english is a language and language are for communicating.if you can communicate then nothing is important ....
