Danish version of Flying the flag

Our Danish partner site esconnet.dk has exclusively got the rights to publish the Danish /English version of the United Kingdom entry Flying the flag. Only twice before in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest has a foreign entry been recorded in Danish by the original artist.

In 1982 Nicole made a Danish version of her winning song. In Danish it was called En smule fred and in 2005 Bosnia-Herzegovina recorded their entry Call me which in the Danish / English version was changed to Ring nu. Danish is a small language and for foreigners it is known as being one of the most difficult languages to pronounce, however your esctoday.com editor who is a native Danish speaker concludes that Scooch would at any time be able to get a record deal singing in Danish. This is very impressive. For most native Danes it will simply not be possible to hear that Scooch are not native in this language.

Click here to listen to the Danish version.

For those who do not understand Danish we can assure that the Scooch has no plans to perform this in Danish at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki on 12th of May where they are automatically qualified for the final as a part of the so-called Big4.

Den Danske version af Flying the flag er rigtig dårlig der er næsten ikke noget dansk i den.

I think what alot of people are forgetting regardless of who are doing the chatty parts of the vocals is that at least for the 1st time in years we have tride to do something in another language .
I for one would to have the UK enter a song sang in English intermingled with French Germany and other native tongues from around Europe .

I agree with the vast quantity of people on here.

As much as I like Scooch and their entry, you cannot genuinly tell us that this is them singing!

The only one that actually sings their solo is Natalie, because its in English!

Hmm the eurovision winners gets more attention than the winners of OL-medals, world cup, etc!

Baudolino, I agree...

Not the best song by a long way, but it would be a very funny performance. It'll get some humour points!

It seems it is going to be a hard race at the bottom of the list with so many dull finalists, however UK is on the right way to repeat the "success" from 2003!I hope they do it!AWFUL SONG!

Mark Hague, you are so right about many weak entires this year. And also about all this UK and Scooch bashing, it really is getting annoying and very unfair !!!!!
I didn't listen to any of the other entries before the cd arrived on Monday and I have to say quite dissapponting. Myself and my partner who is Dutch listened to all of them , giving points out of 20, it was hard to give any over 10 points !!!
Our favourites were Spain, Slovenia,Malta,Portugal,Denmar k Switzerland,Greece, Cyprus, Netherlands, and yes, the UK !!
Denmark coming out top !!!
Anyway good luck to all the countries and good luck Scooch.

OK the song is really nothing special. Nevertheless I think it will get many points because of its unusual theme (do not all weirdos get sympathy points in the ESC?) and the funny stewardess costumes. It might be the best placing for the UK since 2002! Personally I wouldn't mind if they won!

Garry I have to agree with what you have said .
Isnt all this Scooch and UK bashing getting a little thin now ? .
On another note I think this is a weak year for alot of countries but knowing the ESC it allways throws up some surprises

The song remindes me Jemini with their 'Cry Baby' very much! It's kind a poor pop,but I like it))) And...why there is no russian version? :)

I don't know why Scooch bothered....no matter whether you like the song or not, their efforts clearly aren't appreciated (judging by the comments on this site).

Best of luck Scooch - I preferred Cyndi's song at MYMU (although there are much better songs at ESC this year) but your heart is clearly in the right place, so fingers crossed you'll do us proud on 12 May!

By the way: What has happened to the site hoteyes.net made by that danish girl? It has vanished so suddenly.
Except for distributing copyrighted material (Eurovision songs) illegally, the other content was very interesting though.

Fra Mols

Of course it's not Scooch singing in Danish! Scooch's ability to sing in Danish is about the same as my ability to define pi to 8 billion decimal places.

please dont try to fool us into believing that the danish speaking parts are performed by scooch, thats almost as believeable as the blonde girl singing "yes were flying" if they carry on pretending its them then they are insulting peoples intelligence and this gimmick will backfire on them

Well the male voice is pronouced in perfect Danish but the female sounds a little odd!!! But I know people from England who have lived here in Denmark for about 20 years and they don't speak Danish as well as the man singing(or actually speaking) in this song!!!
But the really do have filthy undertones in this so-called Danish version!!!

fabbers
cn anyone tell me what they re sayng in danish and trnslation,a pparently its filthy lol

Hahaha...i couldn't even hear it to the end...how emberrasing.
100% NOT Scooch speaking in between.
Why didn't they invite the most famous danish stewardess Anette Heick (Copenhagen airport) to join them instead of this???...*LOL*...Now that would have given the song some kind of twist.

Good luck anyway UK.
