Junioreurovision.tv attracts worldwide visitors

Junioreurovision.tv, the official site of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, has attracted a great number of visits not only from Europe but from all over the world. Although the British and Spanish broadcasters choose to abstain from the contest, local fans still visit junioreurovision.tv in great numbers, an indication that the junior contest is quite popular in both countries.

The fifth running of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place on Saturday, 8th of December in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. "The official website of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest attracted visitors from over 100 countries so far," said Sietse Bakker, Project Manager Internet of the event at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). "We have visitors from all over Europe, but also from Japan
Mexico and Brazil," Sietse Bakker continued. "Interestingly enough, Spain and the United Kingdom are among our top-5 countries, even though they don't participate. It seems the interest in the competition is high nevertheless
".

The 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast in the 17 participating countries, as well as in Australia and Israel. Viewers from elsewhere can watch the event online, as http://www.junioreurovision.tv will stream the event live over the internet.

I'm from Spain and I visited the site... just to check what Spain had escaped from. I think that the whole concept of JESC is wrong, and I was curious to see if it developed in this way. And I do reafirm: I'm glad Spain does not participate.

Ofcoarse there will be a high number of visits from England and Spain. those countries are big. Afterall, even if Malta had it's entire population click the site, the number would be inignificant.
